SQUARE ENIX近日正式公佈，PS4平台《最終幻想7》全重製作品正式定名為《最終幻想7 重製版 / FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE》，而本作由於重製內容較多，決定將分章節推出。

本作戰鬥系統可以在組隊的3名成員內自由切換進行戰鬥，也可以一直使用一個人(比如克勞德)。戰鬥的節奏感想向DFF看齊，現在演示的也只是基礎部分罷了，遊戲全程將使用Unreal Engine 4製作。

而海外媒體GameSpot公開了一段1997年發售的原版《最終幻想7》與PS4《最終幻想7 重製版》的比較影像，在“PlayStation Experience”上公開的這段展示遊戲序盤內容的FF7重製版新影像與原版相比，可以看到令人驚訝的進化。
