Blizzard此舉意在發展移動遊戲，擴展遊戲受眾群體。近日，在Blizzard的財務電話會議上，King公司的CEO Riccardo Zacconi談到了關於公司被收購後的一些未來計劃，據Zacconi表示，動視暴雪希望King能夠開發出更多基於旗下受歡迎的遊戲IP的手游產品，善加利用King的專長實現龐大休閒遊戲用戶基數的遷移和跨越。
Zacconi同時表示，King已經和Activision及Blizzard方面展開探討，有望將PC平台的經典IP移植到手機移動平台，這也似乎暗示著諸如《暗黑破壞神》、《星際爭霸》、《鬥陣特攻》等經典IP都有望手游化。



當然，依據Blizzard的計劃，這些IP並不會很快推出，但誰不想玩到正版的《暗黑破壞神》手機版呢?畢竟，Blizzard也花了高價買下King ，從早前的《爐石傳說》到近期King所推出的RPG新遊《HERO》，也似乎有意無意地證實了Blizzard攜手King進軍手游的態度和決心。
