早在家用錄像機時代，成人內容便已經在對市場的推動作用中嶄露頭角。同理，“成人內容”也將VR推向了更廣範圍的人群。當然只依靠“成人內容”是無法健全發展的，因此VR的推廣還需要大量“普通遊戲”的支持。現在的“成人市場”出現了許多聯動設備，為“成人內容體驗”提供了許多豐富可能。

隨著今後成人VR的加速成長，一定會對“成人市場”帶來巨大的影響。例如，現在的VR基本都需要玩家戴上覆蓋眼睛的設備，玩家無法看見周圍的真實環境。雖然現在的AR等技術可以看見外面，但製作出能夠更方便使用的成人物品仍是一大問題。而目前I社也在努力製作能夠“解放玩家雙手”的遊戲設備。

以前也曾有AV女優通過3D掃描而在VR內登場，今後也會有更多AV女優出演的360影像登場，由此可見，VR的普及的確會給成人市場帶來影響，今後“成人內容”與“VR”的化學反應也一定會影響相當部分的作品。
